Tool Manipulation

Tool Manipulation

You can control tools you imbue with cursed energy.

Cursed Energy
Starting at 1st level, you can harness your negative feelings into a usable source of energy, called cursed energy. These feelings can be harnessed into attacks or abilities. The number of cursed energy you possess is based on your class, some classes use a modifier that being charisma or wisdom (Player’s choice)

Your cursed energy DC is 8 + user cursed energy ability modifier + proficiency bonus.

Guided Control
Beginning at 1st level, you can spend CE up to your CE modifier as a bonus action to imbue a tool you are holding with cursed energy. This imbuement lasts an hour for each cursed energy spent and gains the following benefits:

  • You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls using this tool or a +1 bonus to AC if the tool is armor or used defensively
  • The damage die increases by 1 tier and again at 6th and 11th level (D4<D6<D8<D10<2d6<2d8)

Floating Tool
At 3rd level, when you imbue a tool, you can spend an additional 2 CE to create a Floating Tool. You can command a Floating Tool as an action to hover up to 35 feet in any direction and make a melee attack using your CE modifier. The Floating Tool deals its normal weapon damage or 1d4 bludgeoning, slashing, or piercing if it is an improvised weapon. You can only have one floating tool at a time and it falls to the ground if it is more than 120 ft from you.

A Floating Tool has AC equal to your CE save DC and hit points equal to 5 x your proficiency bonus + 10 for each grade above 4th if it is a cursed tool. A Floating Tool reduced to 0 HP is destroyed unless it is a cursed tool, in which case it loses the benefits of Floating Tool. You can spend 2 CE as a bonus action to return the effect of Floating Tool to the cursed tool by touching it.

Wind Scythe
At 6th level you have learned to use tools offensively. As an action for 3 CE, you can create a blast of wind from an imbued tool you are holding. Or from a Floating Tool within 60 ft for 1 additional CE.

This creates a 10 feet wide, 60 feet long line. Creatures within range must make a Strength saving throw, taking 3d10 bludgeoning damage and pushed back 10 feet on a failed save or half as much on a success.

At 11th level, your Wind Scythe now deals 6d10 bludgeoning damage and a creature that fails their save is pushed back 20 feet and knocked prone.

Tool Improvement
Additionally, your specialty grants you the following Tool Improvements.

Floating Tool Improvement

  • The cost to create a Floating Tool becomes 1 CE
  • When you command a Floating Tool, they can move up to 40 feet
  • You gain a flying speed of 60 feet by mounting a Floating Tool
  • You can have 2 Floating Tools active at the same time, commanding both as part of the same action.

Combat Tool Improvement
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls when using an imbued tool for each CE spent.

As a reaction, you can cause one of your imbued tools to protect you. It grants you a bonus to AC or reduces damage depending on its size. If the tool has a bonus to AC or damage rolls, it is included in the AC and reduction respectively.

SizeACReduction
Tiny+11d4

Tool Mastery
At 11th level, you have mastered your respective style, granting you the following:

Combat Tool Mastery. Your mastery over imbued tools allows you to manipulate the flow of combat with exceptional precision. When you use Combat Tool Improvement, the AC bonus it grants increases by 1, and the damage reduction provided increases by one additional die. In addition, you gain one extra reaction each round that can only be used to activate Combat Tool Improvement.

When your or a creature you can see makes an attack using your imbued tool, you can use your reaction to grant that attack roll advantage.

Domain Expansion: Tsukumogami Spirit World
Finally at 18th level you have learned to manifest your domain. All weapon attacks made by creatures other than you become a guaranteed miss as you can manipulate all tools within your domain, causing them to come to life and obey your commands.

At initiative 20, you choose one of your imbued tools to gain the benefits of Floating Tool and have all Floating Tools move 60 ft and attack a creature within range or have all creatures suffer the effects of Wind Scythe. You can control a number of Floating Tools equal to your CE modifier (min of 2) within your domain.

Reversal

Creature Manipulation
You have found out about your technique reversal, allowing you to control living creatures as your tools. As an action for 6 cursed energy, you force one creature within 60 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they are charmed by you for 1 minute while concentrating. While the target is charmed, you have a telepathic link while the two of you are on the same plane of existence. You can use this telepathic link to issue commands to the creature as a bonus action.

Each time the target takes damage, it can repeat the save against the technique. If the saving throw succeeds, the technique ends.

You can only control two creatures at once. At 11th level, you can control a number of creatures up to your CE modifier (minimum of 2).
