Gashadokuro

Gashadokuro

Old folklore says a Gashadokuro forms where enough people starved or died forgotten that no one was left to grieve them. The curse version is exactly that legend given teeth: a skeleton several stories tall, built from resentment instead of calcium, that crushes and swallows anything it catches.

Traits

Cursed Manifestation. Only creatures that can sense cursed energy can perceive or harm Gashadokuro. It is exorcised when reduced to 0 hit points.

Reinforcement. While it has cursed energy remaining, Gashadokuro adds +3 to its AC, saving throws, and damage rolls.

Bone Frame. Gashadokuro has advantage on saving throws against being knocked prone, grappled, or restrained.

Actions

Multiattack. Gashadokuro makes two Crushing Grasp attacks.

Crushing Grasp. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 24 (3d10 + 8) bludgeoning damage, and if the target is Large or smaller, it is grappled (escape DC 20). Gashadokuro can grapple two creatures at once, one in each hand.

Devour. Gashadokuro makes a Crushing Grasp attack against a creature it is already grappling. Hit: the damage is dealt automatically without a new attack roll, and the grappled creature is also restrained until the grapple ends.

Bone Shrapnel (Recharge 5-6, 4 Cursed Energy). Gashadokuro’s frame ripples and flings bone fragments in a 60-foot cone. Each creature there makes a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 33 (6d10) piercing damage on a failure, or half as much on a success.
