Virtual Mass Increase
Beginning at 1st level, you have learned the most fundamental technique for a star rage user, the virtual mass increase. As a bonus action for an amount of Cursed Energy up to twice your Cursed Energy modifier, you gain a mass increase for each CE spent for a number of rounds equal to your Cursed Energy modifier. You gain the following benefits depending on your added mass:
- Stronger Martial Arts. Your Unarmed Strike die increases by one tier per two mass increases. (1->d4->d6->d8->d10->d12->2d8)
- Mass Impact. At one mass increase, whenever you roll a critical with an unarmed strike the target must make a Constitution saving throw or be knocked prone. At two mass increases, a creature within 5 ft of the target must make a Constitution save or take half of the same damage. At three mass increases, if the target fails the Constitution saving throw upon a critical, it will also have its speed halved until the beginning of your next turn. At four mass increases their speed will be reduced to 0 if they fail.
- Increased Damage. You gain a +1 to unarmed strikes damage rolls per mass increase.
- Grappler. At one mass increase, you count as one size larger. You count as one size larger per 2 mass increases up to Gargantuan.
You can only activate this technique again after the full duration has passed.
Improved Duration
When you reach 3rd level, you have honed your skills with your technique, learning how to make it last longer. Virtual Mass Increase now lasts for a number of rounds equal to twice your Cursed Energy modifier. This becomes three times at 11th level and four at 18th.
Virtual Mass Improvement
Once you reach 6th level, you have gained experience in refining your technique and can now add three times your Cursed Energy modifier.
Increased Strength. When you spend at least 5 CE on virtual mass, you gain advantage on Strength and Constitution checks and saving throws and +1 to the rolls for each further mass improvement.
Virtual Mass Mastery
At 11th level, you have refined and optimized your technique. You can now add up to four times your Cursed Energy modifier to your virtual mass and use your technique with melee weapon attacks.
Critical Power. Your critical range increases by 1 for every four mass increases and you deal maximum damage to objects and structures.
Quick Activation. You have learned how to instantly activate your technique. You can now activate Star Rage as a free action.
Domain Expansion: Event Horizon
Finally, 18th at level, you have learned to expand your domain. All in your domain are crushed by ground-shaking mass as every 1 ft cost 4 ft of movement. At initiative 20, all hostile creatures in your domain are knocked prone and take 8d8 force damage as they experience crushing mass. A creature must make a Strength (Athletics) check against your Cursed Energy save DC at the beginning of their turn to stand up and again at the end of their turn to remain standing.
Reversal
反転 How to gain this: Cursed Technique Reversal →
Virtual Mass Decrease
Due to your mastery over Reverse Cursed Technique, you have learned to reverse the mass increase. This allows you to get rid of all the mass in your body. This state can be entered as a bonus action or a reaction. You can spend as much Cursed energy on this with no limit, gaining a mass decrease for each cursed energy spent. This state lasts double your current time limit or until you end it as a free action. This cannot be used with Virtual Mass Increase.
Decreased Weight. For every mass decrease, your movement speed increases by 10 feet and you gain a +1 to unarmed attack rolls, but a -1 to damage rolls. If you move in a straight line before hitting a target with an unarmed strike, you gain a +1 to damage rolls for every 5 feet.
Increased Evasion. When you spend at least 6 CE on virtual mass, you gain the Evasion feature and advantage on Dexterity checks and saving throws. You gain a further +2 to Dexterity rolls and AC and -1 to Strength checks and saves for each additional mass decrease.
Critical Speed. Your critical range increases by 2 for every four mass decreases and you deal minimum damage to objects and structures.
Zero Virtual Mass. Despite your reversal being powerful there is a limit. At 11th level, if you spend more than 10 Cursed Energy, you can choose to reduce your mass to 0. Reducing your mass in this way forces you to enter an incorporeal state, and temporarily takes away half of your maximum hit points. During this state, you become unaffected by all damage except psychic, and can phase through objects and creatures. You also cannot interact with other creatures or objects. In addition your speed increases by 30 feet. This lasts for 1 minute or until stopped as a free action.
